We've been serving this Fluffy Marshmallow Fruit Dip at parties for years, and inevitably someone will ask for the recipe. With just two ingredients, it's the easiest and best fruit dip you'll ever make!
My mom and dad have lived in the same house since I was 5 years old, which was a looooong time ago! When I was just a teenager, they had a pool put in. And when I had my kids, we would always have their birthday parties there because what little kid doesn't want to go to a pool party? Kids are like fish when they're little. Just try to get 'em out of a pool when it's time to go. There's sometimes a lot of drama involved, haha! And blue lips and teeth chattering? "No, mom, I'm not c-c-cold!"
Being that both my kids' birthdays were in the summer (six days apart, to be exact), it was always a no brainer that a pool party was gonna happen. And my mom and I loved to make all kinds of food for the kids (and any parents that stayed with their kids, especially when they were really little). One of the things that both kids and adults loved is this fruit dip! Kids love fruit and being able to dunk a strawberry or piece of watermelon in a fluffy marshmallow-y bowl of yumminess is a huge hit with them. And at least one, if not more, parents at those parties would ask for this recipe. They couldn't believe it when we told them how to make it!
The Two Ingredients You'll Need for this Fruit Dip
Believe it or not, the only two ingredients required to make this dip are marshmallow cream and cream cheese. You don't need flavoring and you don't need liquid. You don't need to add anything else and this dip is absolutely delicious! It helps when the fruit you're dipping into it is perfectly fresh and juicy.
How to Make Fluffy Marshmallow Fruit Dip
As this dip is only made with two ingredients, you can bet it's gonna be easy as heck to make, too! Just be sure to start with softened cream cheese and beat it until smooth before adding the marshmallow cream. That's it, people!!! Now all you need is a platter full of fresh fruit dippers and you're set.
The Best Fruit For Dipping
Pick any fruit that can actually be picked up by fingers or toothpicks. Blueberries and raspberries aren't the best for dipping. Here are some examples:
- Strawberries--leave them whole so it'll be easier to dip them.
- Pineapple
- Kiwi
- Bananas--cut these right before serving and sprinkling them with a little lemon juice helps to prevent browning.
- Melons--watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew are all great dippers.
Fruit Dip FAQs
This dip will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. I would not suggest freezing it because of the dairy.
Yes! Strawberry is great, as is pineapple. Another option is to add canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice for a pumpkin dip to serve in the fall. Check out my gluten free pie crust chips and dip!
Nope. You can use a handheld mixer, but it's not necessary, as long as your cream cheese is at room temperature. A hand whisk works great for first whisking the cream cheese and then adding the marshmallow cream.
The secret is out. Fluffy marshmallow fruit dip only has TWO ingredients and is so easy to make! Be ready to blab to everyone when they ask for this recipe.
