I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! On this final day of November, sweet Saturday: 11/30/19, I’m excited to start thinking about Christmas.
I’m one of those who likes to wait until after Thanksgiving before even thinking about Christmas. I can’t stand how retail businesses push Christmas in our face every single year, and it seems earlier and earlier as the years go on. I’d like to take my time and cherish all the holidays individually.
But now that Thanksgiving is over, I’m ALL IN for Christmas!!! And I’m so excited, as I am every Christmas, to make all kinds of goodies! But now I get to share them with you, so even better 🍪 Stay tuned to the blog for all the sweet details 🎄🎅🏻❄🤶🏻
WHAT I’M LOVING THIS WEEK
I used to be a black Friday shopper when my kids were little and I wanted to get all the deals, but I just can’t bring myself to do it anymore. It’s too crazy and I like to shop now in the comfort of my own home. So Amazon IT IS!! Amazon has been having some amazing deals, which I haven’t even taken advantage of yet, but I will most likely hit it up on Cyber Monday.
I LOVE pistachios and cranberries or cherries together so this Christmas Bark is gonna happen this holiday season!
Southern Butter Rolls?? Uh, sign me up!!
Who loves roasted chestnuts?? We never roasted them growing up, but I’ve since learned to absolutely love them and this easy guide on How To Roast Chestnuts the Right Way is perfect for those who have never done it.
I’m trying the reverse sear with The Secret to Perfect Beef Tenderloin the next time I make a tenderloin!!
WHAT I POSTED THIS WEEK
Gluten Free Thanksgiving Roundup — a wonderful collection of all my Thanksgiving recipes that hopefully got a lot of you through the holiday without feeling left out! My son, who isn’t gluten free, swears my Hawaiian rolls are JUST LIKE the real deal.

While we’re approaching another holiday, I’d like to take the time to ask ya’ll if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see made gluten free. I’m always open to hearing suggestions or requests 🍬🍭🍪🍞🥖🥐
Hi Kim, I don’t know where else to put this, but what recipe would you suggest for hoagie rolls? Your softest rolls are magnificent but I think a little thick for hoagies.
Hi, Pam! I have been trying to work on a good sub/hoagie roll forever, but you’re right, the softest rolls just aren’t quite right. I just had someone make my Italian bread and comment that she made sub rolls out of it and it was wonderful, so I’d start there maybe.
Let me know if you do it before I do. Have a happy New Year, Pam🎉
Sounds like a good place to start, thank you 🙂 I haven’t made the Italian bread yet, so that will be good to do regardless,
Happy New Year!!!
Oops, the Artisan bread is the one I haven’t done. I loved the Italian bread!
The artisan bread makes a crispier crust, so that’s why I thought the Italian bread might work for a soft sub or hoagie roll. Plus, there is no fat other than a very small amount of olive oil in the artisan bread so it’s a very lean bread and doesn’t have the right texture.
Happy New Year to you, too, Pam 🎉🍾
It’s Christmas time! I love it!!! Also love Amazon. The only thing that keeps coming to mind are potato rolls. No idea if its possible to do gluten free though. Did you happen to try the everything bagel recipe from the parade post? They are scrumptious! I put them right on the pan because they fell apart during boiling but with the almond flour they have a totally different consistency and are so yummy.
I haven’t tried them, Pam. I’m not super fond of the “everything” flavor. (I think I’m the only one in the world, haha!).
I have potato rolls/bread on my list since my son loves potato bread and said that’s the next thing I should try. Great minds think alike 🙂
Too funny because I also don’t like the ‘everything’ because of the onions. I made them plain. So worthy.
Awesome about the potato rolls. Tell your son thank you for the idea 🙂
Haha! I will tell him.
